Web Of Venom: Carnage Born #1 (of 1)

Web Of Venom: Carnage Born – Written by Donny Cates and illustrated by Danilo S. Beyruth

If slasher films have taught us anything, it’s that you can’t keep a good psychopathic serialCarnage killer down. Especially if that crazy killer is bonded to an alien symbiote. That’s right fright fans! Carnage is back from Outer Space, and he’s probably gonna rip the skin right off your face. Or at the very least shank you with his signature symbiote blades. Regardless of how he kills, you can bet that there will be Carnage.

Tangled Web

Knull may be God of the Symbiotes, but Donny Cates is King! If you’ve been reading his run on Venom then you know that Cates is killing it! He has been slicing and dicing the history of our favourite alien parasites. Inserting new elements and weaving together a web of compelling storylines that will no doubt lead to something beyond epic. With Web Of Venom: Carnage Born Cates continues with this path, however this time his sights are set on a whole new monster.

Carnage Born brings everyone’s favourite alien covered serial killer back into the world of Venom. This comic ties up one of the major loose ends left by the Venomized event, and sets up for some very promising future Venom issues. Fans of Carnage should enjoy his blood splattered return, even if it’s mainly set up for what’s to come.

All the glorious Carnage is captured with style by artist Danilo S. Beyruth (Deadpool V. Gambit). There’s a little bit of blood and a little bit of guts and a lot of symbiote. Everything looks slick from the panel work to the full page spreads. I especially like the colouring in this book which was done by Cris Peter. She uses a cool blend of tones and colours that produce a cool gloomy look. Also I want to say that the main cover for this book is unreal and if you are ever going to buy a book for it’s cover this should be that book. Total props to Kyle Hotz and Jose Villarrubia.

Gotta Love Carnage

Cletus Kasady might be one sick son of a gun, but man is it fun to watch him do his thing. Carnage is a fan favourite and those fans will not be disappointed with this book or the story it’ll spawn. If you’ve been reading Venom then grabbing this book is a must. It builds on the story already being told in Cate’s killer run and your Venom collection won’t be complete without it.
