From the Publisher: “The bad batch is back! The soul of a serial killer with the body of a cookie! It’s the Gingerdead Man, and this time he’s set his beady little candy eyes on a California headshop! High and die, brah! But little does he know it’s under the protection of Eebee the Evil Bong, a cursed artifact who wants to cast his crunchy body into the magical realm of BongWorld! The bloodshed and stoned heads begins here!”

Talking poop? Check.  Marijuana references and use? Check.  Talking bong? Check.  Willy Wonka reference? Check.  Do you really need more than that?  No – and the kids don’t need it either.  Disclaimer on this book – its for mature readers only.  I’ve never been so serious before: unless you want to spend hours explaining several awkward references to your child, don’t give them this book!

I’ll tell you what… not since reading B-Movie Garbage have a been so utterly mystified as to what I read.  And unlike B-Movie, this book actually has a cult following to its characters.  Lo and behold I’m doing my research online and I find out that there is a movie called Gingerdead Man vs. Evil Bong from 2013.  Seriously – check out this trailer for the movie.  If you are in to “cult” movies – this book (and movie for that matter) might be right up your alley.

It’s All In the Writing…

The book is what I would imagine Skottie Young’s Fairyland would look like if Skottie wasn’t the artist.  It’s very exaggerated… and murder-filled.  The art suits the book well, but the writing is pretty much what keeps this book moving along as it should.  It stays pretty much within boundaries set by the previous movie properties and leaves NOTHING to the imagination.

Seriously – if you are in to b-movies and/or cult fiction – check this out.  If you like it, you can check out the “hit” movie: Gingerdead Man 2: Passion of the Crust!  There seems to be quite a bit of this property to mine out there.
